The Fastest Growing Businesses in the Current Recession

I encourage you to check out an online slideshow that I recently found titled, ‘The Best Industries for Starting a Business.’ Haven’t all of us thought about the kinds of industries and businesses that are thriving in this deep recession? This online slideshow, provided by Inc. magazine, is a short list of some of the fastest growing industries right now.

Some of the most obvious industries are accounting services, green construction, and energy. In fact, energy was the “fastest-growing industry among privately-held companies with a median four-year growth rate of 287.5 percent.”

Software as a Service and Education Technology are two more industries that are listed as some of the fastest growing.

Take a quick peek at the online slideshow and I’d like to hear some of your comments. Are there any other businesses you can think of that could thrive in the current economy?

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

The fastest segment we have seen in our industry is fractional sales. This is driven by the need for second home properties; however, no owning the entire property. Actually this lousy economy has driven the fractional sales market considerably. We have seen great growth and the availability of some really neat properties. I am in the process of upgrading everything we have on the NET to reflect this change in the real estate industry. You can go to our web site, http://www.tartanmgmt.com and see what we are up to.

Ms: Curwick has provided insightful information. The Investor Business Daily 100, valadates most of the growth areas presented by Inc.com. As we have evolved from the agriculture age to the industrial and now the information age, It has always been the entrepreneurial spirit that has carried us forward. The twenty first century has brought about the growth of emerging markets. China has the potential of three billion ideas, the United States three million. IMO the west has taken Itself out of the game twice in the last decade. Fiirst the Dot Com blow up and now housing and credit. If we are to stay in the game, I would encourage seed money to dig deeper then ever before and support the small entrepreneur with the big idea, so we can compete and start growing trees once again!!

I think we are entering a split stage where information is always important but also industrial where renewable energy and newer products will be in greater demand. Alot of this industry still requires REAL ESTATE. Be on the lookout for old industrial places that can be cleaned and made attractive for these new business.

  4. Economic recession created huge unemployment rates around the world. I think the world economy is already on the road to recovery.

  5. Corey Curwick says:

I completely disagree. What signs in the global economy are telling you that we are on the road to recovery? Please elaborate.

I think we are also seeing some signs of recovery from the Economic Recession. Of course, we have no idea of how long it will take to completely recover, but some say it’s going to be longer than for the other recessions in decades. I also scanned an article yesterday that said business owners need a new set of tactics to do well during recovery.
