Does Chrome Pose a Threat to the Microsoft Monopoly?

Ft.com published an article on September 1st about, Chrome, the open source browser that Google released on Tuesday in more than 100 countries. The article dealt with Google’s move against Microsoft’s core desktop software bizz and suggested that this is the start of something that could eventually break up the Windows monopoly. This seems pretty reasonable to me and the thought of that happening actually made me smile. Any thoughts on this? comments?
